The compelling story of James Gray in the NY Times. Apparently, Gray, an interesting and well-liked technologist, left San Francisco in a sailboat to deposit his mother’s ashes in the ocean. The Coast Guard had called off its search and since then the Silicon Valley crowd has rallied and has continued to search for Gray. I was fascinated by the level of expertise that Gray’s friends and associates, including Google’s Sergey Brin, were able to commit. Would they have done the same for Steve Ballmer?
