Liz found a website through Life Hacker called Open Culture. They have a list of podcast courses. I’ve found one course that sounds especially good, Astronomy 161, taught by Richard Pogge of Ohio State University.

It won’t be long before I start standing on the shoulders of giants. (That’s a quote by Isaac Newton regarding the work done by Galileo and others. Of course it kind of sounds like something someone would say after abusing cocaine.)

Have listened to a couple of lectures already. A good bit of colorful filler. But in each lecture there’s been at least one nugget. For instance, in “Measuring the Earth,” Pogge lays out Aristotle’s three proofs that the earth is a sphere.
